What we do
Scope
We carry out all types of surveys, the most popular is pre-purchase. Buying a boat is an exciting time and you must have a clear picture. Our role is to assist you in the purchase, look at the boat without the rose tinted specs and help you deciding if you want to proceed with the purchase, bearing in mind the valuation and condition of the boat that you are considering.
Whether this is your first yacht or 5th we will follow the proven BMSE logical method using common professional practice and where available published guidelines or codes, such as those published by the International Institute of Marine Surveying and report in plain English our findings and help you as much as you need us.
However thorough the marine surveyors are, there are certain limitations to every survey.
Do discuss with us as we are very flexible and can normally accommodate whatever you want.
If you want a full inventory check or mast down survey, or engine detail surveys please ask.
We use professional and very sophisticated equipment.
These are examples of some of the equipment used by us when conducting surveys and inspections:
A pre-delivery inspection provides the owner with a professional assessment of the build before final acceptance, we will verify that the vessel is completed to the agreed specification and that works have been finished to the expected standard.
Insurers will often insure a production yacht on face value but it is sometimes the case that an insurer requires a surveyors report to issue an appropriate policy and calculate an accurate premium.
